when i worked at the grocery store i was always giving people discounts and “accidentally” not scanning things, except for the incredibly wealthy people that came in and were rude. they paid full price for everything and their produce was always weighed with a finger on the scale. anyway be nice to your cashiers.

I DESPISE, modern day media discussion especially when it comes to romance plots. Just a few years ago, if an author spent the whole story hinting at the main boy and girl charaters being in love and didn't have them get together at the end. Everyone would agree, that it was lame, and pointless, and bad writing. But, NOW? You get a billion self proclaimed "media literacy gods" jumping you for accusing the author of such a thing and gaslighting you into thinking it was "deep and subversive storytelling about how the girl/boy gets over their crush!" When there were absolutely 0 scenes where this happens or is even hinted at being a theme. All of it is just cope done to try and absolve writers for weak storytelling decisions and it annoys me.

Every day I marvel that some people only want happy endings to stories. It’s not that there’s anything wrong with happy endings. I’ve enjoyed plenty.

But dear god, I cannot imagine subsisting on those alone. I cannot imagine a diet of only dessert and sweetness.
